Terms of Service

The rules for using AESOP AI Academy.

These terms explain what learners, parents, teachers, schools, and visitors can expect from AESOP AI Academy, and what we expect from anyone using the site.

Effective May 11, 2026 | Version 1.0

Plain-language summary: Use AESOP for learning, teaching, and responsible exploration of AI. Do not misuse the platform, break the law, attempt to compromise systems, upload harmful content, or represent AI-generated output as guaranteed fact. Parents, guardians, teachers, and institutions are responsible for supervising learners in their care.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using AESOP AI Academy, including aesopacademy.org, course pages, dashboards, forms, downloads, or related services, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Notice. If you use AESOP on behalf of a school, company, nonprofit, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.

2. What AESOP provides

AESOP AI Academy provides AI-literacy curriculum, courses, lessons, quizzes, AI-assisted learning tools, learning records, institutional resources, and related educational content. We may add, remove, or change features as the platform develops.

3. Eligibility and children

AESOP is designed for learners of many ages, including children, but children must use the service with appropriate adult supervision. Users under 13 may only use AESOP through a parent, guardian, school, or other authorized adult pathway that satisfies applicable consent requirements, including COPPA where applicable.

Parents, guardians, teachers, schools, and program administrators are responsible for deciding whether AESOP is appropriate for a learner and for supervising use by minors.

4. Accounts and security

You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for keeping login information secure. Do not share another person's credentials, impersonate anyone, or access accounts that do not belong to you. Tell us promptly if you believe an account or learner record has been accessed without permission.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use AESOP to:

  • Break the law or encourage unlawful conduct.
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, or harm any person, including minors.
  • Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, scrape at abusive volume, or interfere with platform security.
  • Submit content that is hateful, sexually exploitative, violent, defamatory, invasive of privacy, or otherwise harmful.
  • Misrepresent your identity, school, affiliation, certifications, or learning records.
  • Use AESOP output to make high-stakes decisions about education, employment, finance, legal rights, medical care, or safety without qualified human review.

6. AI-assisted content and accuracy

AESOP uses and teaches AI. AI-assisted content can be useful, but it may be incomplete, outdated, biased, or wrong. Users should check important information, especially where safety, law, health, money, reputation, or a learner's rights are involved.

AESOP content is educational. It is not legal, medical, financial, psychological, or professional advice.

7. Educational use and learning records

Course completions, scores, transcripts, badges, certificates, and other learning records are intended to support learning. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, they are not professional licenses, college credits, government credentials, or guarantees of mastery.

8. Intellectual property

AESOP owns or licenses the platform, curriculum, interface designs, software, course structure, artwork, trademarks, and related materials. The limited permission to use AESOP does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.

Some educational uses are allowed under our Copyright Policy. Do not copy, sell, mirror, or redistribute substantial parts of AESOP outside those permissions or a separate written agreement.

9. User content

If you submit text, feedback, answers, reports, files, or other material, you keep any rights you already have in that material. You give AESOP permission to host, process, display, analyze, and use that content as needed to operate, protect, support, and improve the service.

Do not submit content unless you have the right to submit it. Do not submit sensitive personal information unless a specific AESOP workflow asks for it.

10. Third-party services and links

AESOP may link to or integrate third-party services, such as authentication, hosting, analytics, community, video, payment, or classroom tools. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party sites that we do not control.

11. Accessibility

AESOP aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA for public-facing web content and to provide effective access for learners, educators, parents, and visitors with disabilities. Our accessibility commitments, testing practices, known limitations, and accommodation process are described in the Accessibility Policy.

12. Payments, subscriptions, and institutional agreements

Some AESOP content may be free and some may be paid, licensed to institutions, sponsored, or offered under a separate agreement. Any price, renewal, cancellation, refund, or procurement terms shown at checkout or in a signed agreement control for that purchase. We will present material payment terms before charging you.

13. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe a user has violated these terms, created a security risk, harmed another user, infringed rights, or used AESOP in a way that threatens the integrity of the platform. When appropriate, we may provide notice and a chance to resolve the issue.

14. Disclaimers

AESOP is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work hard to keep content accurate and the service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that every lesson, AI response, result, score, or recommendation will be correct or suitable for every learner.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, AESOP and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow a limitation.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as AESOP changes or as legal, safety, or operational needs evolve. The effective date at the top of this page tells you when the current version took effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.

17. Contact

Questions about these terms, accessibility, privacy, copyright, or platform safety can be sent through the Report Issue form or by email.
